Remote Patient Monitoring System

Remote Patient Monitoring for Blood Cancer Treatment

Safe and Reliable, Comfortable, At Home Monitoring

    The Challenge

The digital health team requested Stratos' support to define and refine the concept for a remote patient monitoring system. As a tool to monitor the onset of potentially lethal side effects related to treatments for certain types of blood cancers, it was essential to understand the patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals who would use it.

    The Approach

Across multiple design sprints, we defined and refined a digital platform experience that achieves the needs, goals, and nuanced workflows for each type of user group. As we defined the concept and refined the solution over multiple design sprints, we also validated the desirability of the concept with healthcare professionals and patients.

    Our Process

    • •Ran a series of foundational co-creation sessions with physicians to determine the building blocks of the solution and refine the workflow, essential to adoption of the solution
    • •Conducted rapid, scenario-based prototyping of the solution across multiple sprints
    • •Crafted experiential narratives which enabled physicians to imagine the solution in their workflow and from the patient's perspective
    • •Captured and tested assumptions in a disciplined way from framing, through co-creation, prototyping and refinement of the solution
    • •Orchestrated the business and user perspectives to evolve the business model canvas from the beginning

    Key Deliverables

    • ✓A physician-refined solution prototype with clarity on what it needed to be and how it needed to function
    • ✓Insights around the essential role of the caregiver in the solution ecosystem
    • ✓A differentiated brand and tone for the solution based on research around the molecule and alignment within the project team
    • ✓Validated desirability around the solution
    • ✓A refined business model canvas with evidence-based understanding of customer needs/problems, customer segment/early adopter, value proposition, and solution

    Impact

The project delivered a comprehensive digital platform that seamlessly integrates the needs of patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, ensuring safe and effective remote monitoring of potentially life-threatening side effects for blood cancer patients.
